The Center Space

All are welcome to visit The Center located in 4600 Memorial Union. The Center is a space for you to be yourself, find and build community, get involved, and explore lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and ally life at Iowa State University. For hours of operation, please visit the Contact Us page.

As the hub of LGBTQIA+ student life on campus, The Center provides students with a lounge, access to Center staff, computer lab, table space to enhance your academic progress, a wellness room, wired and wireless projection (through Solstice Pod and HDMI), and an interactive, innovation area to build LGBTQIA+ community, culture, pride, leadership, and more!

An introduction to The Center Space must also include an acknowledgment of the land upon which The Center, staff, and visitors reside. The Center Space is located on the ancestral lands and territory of the Baxoje (bah-kho-dzhe), or Ioway Nation. The United States obtained the land from the Meskwaki and Sauk nations in the Treaty of 1842. The Center staff wish to recognize our obligations to this land and to the people who took care of it, as well as to the 17,000 Native people who live in Iowa today.
